Next, proceed through the following 12-bit program. It may take you morethan one meeting to complete all 12 bits.

  1. I admit that I am powerless over the internet and that my life has becomeunmanageable.
  2. I have come to believe that a System Adminstrator greater than mine canrestore me to connectivity.
  3. I have decided to turn my keyboard and passwords over to the care of theSystem Aministrator as I understand him/her.
  4. I have made a searching and fearless inventory of my software, hardware, and net access.
  5. I have admitted to the System Adminstrator, to myself, and to an anonymousposting newsgroup the exact nature of my net abuses.
  6. I am ready to have the System Adminstrator remove my unauthorized accessrights.
  7. I humbly ask the System Administrator to remove my low bandwidthconnections.
  8. I have made a list of all systems I have visited without permission and amwilling to remove their system passwords from my public web page.
  9. I am making direct amends to such systems except when to do so would bringdown a system.
  10. I am taking a personal computer inventory and when one is underpowered, Iam promptly admitting it.
  11. I am, through e-mail and web visits, seeking to improve my communicationwith the System Administrator as I understand him/her, asking only for rootaccess.
  12. Having had an upgrade to my virtual quality of life as a result of thesesteps, I will try to carry this message to other internet addicts.

Remember, if any of this were actually important, it wouldn't be onthis page.
